Shannon Kevin Gugerty (born December 30, 1981) is an American mixed martial arts fighter. He has competed primarily in the Total Combat promotion, making his UFC debut at UFC Fight Night: Silva vs. Irvin, in July 2008.

Mixed martial arts career
Gugerty made his MMA debut in 2005, defeating Cub Swanson (for whom it was also his first professional appearance) in TC 4 (Swanson would later on go to defeat Gugerty at TC 14). He went on to appear prominently in Total Combat, then moved upwards to the UFC when he was signed to appear against the then-undefeated Dale Hartt at the UFC Fight Night 14; he defeated him by submission in the 1st round.
Gugerty went on to appear against (and lose to) Spencer Fisher at UFC 90, as a last-minute replacement to Melvin Guillard. Gugerty defeated wrestling specialist Matt Grice at UFC 100. Gugerty last fought Terry Etim on November 14, 2009 at UFC 105.[2] He lost via second round submission (guillotine choke), which was locked in for almost 30 seconds before Gugerty tapped.
Most recently, Gugerty faced Clay Guida on March 21, 2010 at UFC LIVE: Vera vs. Jones, replacing an injured Sean Sherk.[3] Gugerty lost via secound round submission. Following his loss to Guida, Gugerty was released from the promotion along with Eliot Marshall.[4]
