Truth be told, there has never been a better time to be a female UFC fighter. The sport is growing more popular by the day, and the women’s division is becoming increasingly competitive. In this blog post, we will take a look at the top 10 female UFC fighters. These women are strong, skilled, and determined to succeed in the octagon!

1. Valentina Shevchenko

The first fighter on our list is Valentina Shevchenko. Shevchenko is currently ranked as the number one women’s flyweight fighter in the world. Even more impressive Valentina is also the number one ranked pound-for-pound fighter in the world.

She has a professional record of 23-3-0, with many of those wins coming by KO/TKO. Shevchenko is a dangerous striker with amazing technique. She is also a very experienced fighter, having competed in Muay Thai and kickboxing before making the transition to MMA.  If you have read our biography about Valentina, you know she was born and raised to be a fighter. We would almost call it a privilege to be able to watch her career unfold during our lifetime.

2. Amanda Nunes

Next on our list is Amanda Nunes. Nunes is the former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion. She is also the first and only woman to ever hold simultaneous titles in two different weight classes. Nunes has an impressive record of 21–5, with 17 of those either coming by knockout or submission.

She is a force to be reckoned with in the octagon and is widely considered to be one of the best female fighters to ever grace the octagon. She recently lost her Bantamweight belt to Juliana Pena, however many believe she will easily take it back at their rematch at UFC 277.

3. Joanna Jedrzejczyk

Third, on our list is Joanna Jedrzejczyk. Jedrzejczyk is the former UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion. She holds an impressive record of 21-5-0, with 4 of those wins coming by KO/TKO. Jedrzejczyk is a well-rounded fighter with great striking skills. She is also a very experienced competitor, having fought in boxing and Muay Thai before making the transition to MMA.

Joana recently decided to retire from MMA after her loss at UFC 275 after losing to Zhang Weili via a spinning back fist. Joana was always entertaining to watch and UFC fans will never forget the show she and Zhang Weili put on at 248; their fight is considered one of the best in UFC history.

4. Rose Namajunas

Fourth on our list is Rose Namajunas. Namajunas is currently ranked as the number four women’s strawweight fighter in the world. She holds a professional record of 11–5, with two of those wins coming by KO/TKO. Namajunas is a dangerous striker with great technique. She is also a very experienced fighter, having competed in BJJ and kickboxing before making the transition to MMA.

5. Holly Holm

Fifth on our list is Holly Holm. Holm is a former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion. She holds an impressive record of 14-6, with eight of those wins coming by knockout. Holm is a well-rounded fighter with great striking skills. She is also a very experienced competitor, having fought in boxing and kickboxing before making the transition to MMA. Before transitioning to MMA, Holly held a record of 33-2-3 in boxing and 14-1-7 in kickboxing. Holly is most famous for her jaw-dropping high kick on then-champion Ronda Rousey.

6. Germaine De Randamie

Sixth on our list is Germaine De Randamie. De Randamie is currently unranked in the women’s bantamweight division. She holds a professional record of 14-4, with four of those wins coming by KO/TKO. De Randamie is a dangerous striker with great technique. She is also a very experienced striker since her professional kickboxing record stands at an astonishing 46-0 with 30 of those wins coming via knockout. Germaine hasn’t competed in a while, but we are sure she is still a dangerous fighter.

7. Jessica Andrade

Seventh on our list is Jessica Andrade. Andrade is currently ranked as the number six women’s strawweight and number four women’s flyweight fighter in the world. She holds a professional record of 23-9, with nine of those wins coming by KO/TKO, and 8 of them coming via submission. Andrade is a well-rounded fighter with great wrestling skills. She is also one of the strongest women in her division, regularly seen picking up and slamming her opponents. She is well known for her famous knockout of Rose Namajunas via ground slam.

8. Carla Esparza

Eighth on our list is Carla Esparza. Esparza is the current UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion. She holds a professional record of 19-6 with four of those wins coming by submission and four coming by knockout. Esparza won her last fight over former Women’s Strawweight Champion Rose Namajunas who was a favorite in the fight. The fight however was rather dull and uneventful ending in a split decision win for Esparza.

9. Zhang Weili

Ninth on our list is Zhang Weili. Weili is the current UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion. She holds an impressive record of 22–3, with eleven of those wins coming by KO/TKO. Weili is a dangerous striker with great technique and even more impressive cardio and power. She is responsible, together with Joanna Jedrzejczyk for giving us one of the best fights we have ever seen inside the octagon. I am sure Zhang Weili will have another claim to the throne sooner or later. She is very well-liked by the MMA community and she could be one of the main reasons for opening up China to many new talented fighters.

10. Julianna Pena

Last but not least, the tenth on our list is Juliana Pena. Pena is currently the Women’s Bantamweight Champion after her upset win against Amanda Nunes who was a heavy favorite coming into the fight. She holds a professional record of 11–4, with five of those wins coming by submission. Pena is a well-rounded fighter with great grappling skills. Penna will have to defend her throne in a rematch against Amanda Nunes on UFC 277. Although I do like Pena as a fighter, I am not quite sure about her ability to beat the Lioness twice.
