Frank Mir: Size Does Matter

“I want to get to where I’m cutting 15-20 pounds just to make 265 pounds. That’s going to take some time. But that way I’ll be the same size he is. I may not be quite as strong as he is, but I’ll be strong enough to neutralize his strength, and then it will come down to who is the better technical fighter. He will never be as technical a fighter as I am because he started too late.”

Frank Mir on his planed approach when potentially meeting Brock Lesnar for a third time in 2010. Although Lesnar has been sidelined recently with diverticulitis and some have even questioned his return to the sport, Mir has been obsessed with climbing the UFC Heavyweight ranks again for a shot at redemption with Lesnar in a future rubber match. A larger-than-ever Mir (264.5 lbs) choked out Cheick Kongo in just 1:12 at last Saturday’s UFC 107 after a ton of pre-fight bad blood.
