Well there is only one left and it is the biggest, but cardio deficient, Marcus. The ex-NFL player will be the last of Rampage’s team members to attempt a victory. Rampage, in the year he is distracted with outside opportunities, could be the first coach to go absolutely winless. The open of the episode shows Rampage Jackson ripping apart a door to the point where Dana White makes a funny and states that there is no future in the UFC being a door.
Quinton gets a bit more serious in trying to pull out a last fight win out of Marcus. All season, no one has expected Marcus to win as he has shown to be injury prone as well as weak in his cardio. However, with his towering frame, the Rampage team knows they have hope if any of his punches comes down and connect.
The gardening monster shows yet another side as he screams scared over a spider in the house. On the other side, we see a soft side to Michael Wessel as well as he expresses his concern for his wife back at home. He know he has an upward climb to overcome the gentle giant in Marcus Jones. Big Baby, as Rashad Evans calls Marcus, might just fall to the determined Wessel.
The nervous laughter of Marcus in training is welcoming to Team Rampage trainers as it is rare to find someone so eager, but will he have what it takes to be a fighter. Does this NFL athlete really have what it takes to think like a fighter? Who cares, it is time to fight!
Wessel definitely looks like he is having to fight “up”, but after a quick takedown, Marcus Jones comes off with the arm bar in the very first round. At about 0:50 in the first round, Marcus Jones gets Team Rampage’s first victory of TUF 10.
This episode of The Ultimate Fighter 10 isn’t all about the final fight leading to the quarter finals, it is to pick the quarter finals. So for the finale, it will be Marcus Jones vs. Darrel Schoonover and Roy Nelson vs. Justin Wren and Brendan Schaub vs. John Madsen and James McSweeney vs Matt Mitrione.
