WEC 53 Saves the best to last. Recap and comments

In the last show ever for the WEC the card was definitely filled with excitement. Anthony Pettis bettered former champ Ben Henderson in a wild 5 round back and forth war. In the end the edge went to Pettis by unanimous decision with 48-47, 48-47- and 49-46 scores. The win places Pettis next in line for the UFC Lightweight Title facing the winner of January’s UFC 125 fight between Frankie Edgar or Gray Maynard.

Also on the card co-headlining the main event was Champ Dominick Cruz facing the always tough Scott Jorgenson. Cruz’s quick footwork and fast in and out punches seemed too much for Jorgenson to handle with all three judges scoring the bout 50-45 for Cruz.
